TPC Summerlin, opened for play in 1991, and quickly established itself as one of the top golf courses in the area. The course received numerous awards and accolades from the very beginning and continues to combine innovative design and a reverence for nature today. Recent awards are “One of America’s Best Golf Courses” by Golf Digest, as well as the “#1 Private Golf Course in Nevada” by Nevada Business Magazine in 2006. The course was designed by well known golf course architect Bobby Weed, with consulting help from Fuzzy Zoeller. The two combined to produce a beautiful course carved from a magnificent swath of rugged desert terrain in the heart of Summerlin on the western side of Las Vegas.

The Tournament Players Club (TPC) has developed a reputation for developing and operating outstanding PGA Tour golf properties around the country. These courses are private and are typically destination golf clubs, and many host PGA Tour events throughout the year. Many top golf professionals and architects have lent their talents to the design of these stunning courses, including such names as Dye, Fazio, Palmer, Morrish, Player, Nicklaus, Weiskopf, and Norman. Throughout its history, the TPC network of courses, beginning in 1980 with TPC Sawgrass, has maintained an uncompromising standard of excellence, placing a premium on championship quality golf course design and conditions, top of the line clubhouse facilities, and member and guest services suited for Tour players, families, guests, and visitors. TPC Summerlin lives to these demands to provide a terrific golf experience that can compare to few others.

The course meanders through arroyos and canyons, with lush greens, several water features, honey mesquite and pine trees along the way, with stunning desert landscape.

The longest par-3 on the course is the 239 yard 8th hole. A large green waits with a bail out to the left. Shots hit short and right will most likely reach one of the 4 bunkers guarding the right side.

The shortest par-5 on the course is the 3rd hole measuring 492 yards and offering scoring opportunities and decision making. A double fairway leads to the green. Stay to the right and you have a straight tee shot and generous landing area, but a longer trip. Aim left, and the reward is a better angle to the green and a chance at birdie. The hole plays uphill and typically plays into the prevailing wind.

The closing 4 holes represents the risk/reward challenges that Tour players and members enjoy. The 15th hole is a drivable hole by longer hitters at 320 yards. Desert runs the length of the hole on the left with bunkers separating the two level fairway. Seven bunkers dot the landscape on this hole, so if your tee shot misses the green, an “up and down” birdie is still a possibility. The green is severely elevated and undulated, so golfers will have to bring their best skills to finish out the hole.

The 16th hole is a slightly downhill par-5 that some of the longer hitters may reach on their second shot. Trees guard both sides of the fairway, but a good tee shot will put hitters in a good position for the approach shot over the large lake in front of the green. Scoring opportunities are possible with an aggressive second shot.
Seventeen is a long downhill par-3 measuring 196 yards with water coming into play. Water guards the left, while sand bunkers line the right side of the green. Birdies are difficult here, with par being a good score. The hole doesn’t allow for an aggressive tee shot typically.

The 18th hole is a challenging finishing hole to your round, typical of what you would expect from a TPC course. The hole plays slightly uphill and forces players to carry their tee shot over a wash to the landing area. The approach shot allows golfers to make a decision on how aggressive to be to finish their round, as a lake protects the entire left side of the deep green. The green measures 56 yards deep with large undulations, the perfect challenge to finish your round at TPC Summerlin.

The 36,000 square foot clubhouse at TPC Summerlin has a lot to offer. The southwestern-style clubhouse serves as your destination for dining, hospitality, and relaxation, before or after your round. The clubhouse has everything that golfers could possibly need on their visit, including a members’ lounge, casual and upscale dining rooms, large banquet space, private meeting rooms, an award-winning golf shop, men’s and women’s locker rooms, four lighted tennis courts, junior Olympic-sized swimming pool and spa, along with a poolside café.

There are several dining options to choose from following your round. The champion’s lounge, Summerlin Dining Room, Calico and Cactus private dining rooms, Patio Grill, and Poolside café offer Southwestern Continental cuisine, with an extensive menu available for private member functions, weddings, corporate events, and business meetings.

TPC Summerlin is also a great location for corporate events, weddings and social events, holiday parties, and leadership forums, as well as other special events. The large rooms and meeting areas, make TPC Summerlin the perfect venue for your special event.

Memberships to the club are offered, with a variety of possibilities and involvement. Corporate memberships, Personal memberships, and Social memberships are available. Members enjoy a sense of community, camaraderie, and belonging that comes along with participation in exclusive members-only golf and social events throughout the year. With memberships come specific privileges, specifically, playing privileges throughout the TPC network of premium golf courses and premiere partner properties. Also, qualified members receive services and benefits through a program called TPC Passport, which offers a premium concierge program designed to deliver the best golf experience for TPC private club members.

TPC Summerlin hosts a PGA Tour event each year, typically in October in recent years. Large charity events are also hosted at the course, including Birdies for the Brave, which raises funds for charities benefitting US servicemen and women.

Whether visiting as a guest, member, or for a special event, meeting, or fundraiser, TPC Summerlin offers the very best golf experience as well as all of the amenities you could possibly expect from a superior golf venue. Make sure to enjoy the opportunity to visit this terrific golf course with its superb and friendly staff to help make yours a trip to remember.
