Rio Secco Golf club opened in 1997 and quickly established itself as one of the premier golf experiences in the Las Vegas area. The course was designed by well-known golf course architect Rees Jones whose philosophy on course design is “to create an environment for the game of golf that is challenging, fair, and aesthetically pleasing.” Jones doesn’t create a lot of gimmicks within his courses, but tries to blend the course into its natural surroundings. He successfully has achieved this with Rio Secco with its gorgeous views and its location at the foothills of the Black Mountain range. The course cuts through the scenic canyons of the foothills and offers several plateaus with some of the best views of the city.

Rio Secco plays over 7,300 yards and offers a challenge to players of all levels. Four sets of tee boxes will give golfers of all playing levels an opportunity to play one of the best courses in the city and have an enjoyable experience. Accuracy is at a premium, with fair and well manicured landing areas, but trouble looming if you should have an errant tee shot. Water does not come into play on many holes, however, wind and elevation changes can really play havoc with your club selection. The greens at Rio Secco are quick and tricky, so golfers will need to use their best touch and putting stroke.

Rio Secco Golf Club features several signature holes including the par-4 16th hole. The hole plays from an elevated tee box, with the green guarded by an enormous 60-foot wall of rock behind it. Sixteen is a gorgeous hole to look at, but tough to score on. The 18th is a long finishing hole and a chance to leave nothing in your bag to waste. At 634 yards it is a monster, however, it offers a generous fairway with sand traps left. The hole is beautiful leading up to the clubhouse and is a great challenge to finish your round.
Rio Secco can accommodate large groups, corporate outings, and tournaments with its friendly and experienced staff. The staff will assist you in helping make your event memorable.

Two amenities at Rio Secco really set it apart from most other golf experiences in Las Vegas: the Butch Harmon School of Golf and the T-Mates program. The Butch Harmon School of Golf is regarded as one of the top golf schools in Las Vegas, and in the country. Mr. Harmon has had several well known PGA Tour pros among his students over the years, including Tiger Woods, Stewart Cink, Phil Mickelson, and Ernie Els. The school offers one, two, and three day schools and also personal instruction with a specific instructor available if needed. Mr. Harmon is regarded as one of the top teachers in the world and his staff is easily among some of the best you’ll find in the United States. It is truly the “Rolls Royce” of golf schools and can help your game and make your trip to Sin City memorable.

The T-Mates program at Rio Secco is among the most unique experiences in the city. The T-Mates are a group of very attractive female caddies that can help to make your round one of the most enjoyable you’ve ever experienced. From the moment you walk through the doors of the clubhouse, the T-Mates are there to assist you with everything from morning coffee and drinks, to your transportation needs, to strategies on the golf course, cleaning your clubs, yardages, and photo opportunities, guiding you through the golf course and giving you the VIP treatment.

Before or after your round at Rio Secco, Janelas Restaurant and Bar is available for a quick bite or to relax, and sit down for a while with the rest of your group. The restaurant is well furnished and features terrific views of the course and serves a delicious menu for breakfast or lunch.

Rio Secco offers one of the most gorgeous golf courses in the Las Vegas area, in addition to several other amenities that you don’t commonly find at even the top country clubs. Some of the best views of the city are located here and is easily worth the short trip to play one of the best in Sin City.
