Las Vegas Country Club holds the distinction as being the oldest private golf course in the area and is now over 40 years old and still going strong. History is all around you at the course, with several celebrities having played there and hosting several professional tournaments on many of the major pro tours. The country club has been the host of the PGA Las Vegas Invitational and the LPGAs Takefuji Classic as well as top amateur tournaments like the Nevada Women’s State Amateur Championship and the Callaway Junior Series as well as numerous celebrities and local residents of significance.

During the 1950’s, the property now occupied by The Las Vegas Country Club was the site of a thoroughbred racetrack named Las Vegas Downs, with the only access being a gravel road running from Paradise Road to the track. When the racetrack went into bankruptcy, the property was purchased by an investor and casino operator named Joe W. Brown.

Brown later sold it to Marvin Kratter who proceeded to build the country club, completing the course in 1967 with the clubhouse being completed a year later. Las Vegas Country Club opened as the Las Vegas International Country Club and operated as a public course until it was bought by a strip hotel named the Bonanza. The country club was renamed the Bonanza Country Club and Corral. In 1970, the club was again sold to Realty Holdings, who renamed it the Las Vegas Country Club. The country club soon became private in July of 1971.

Realty Holdings sold Las Vegas Country Club to forty of its members with the specific goal of making it an equity type membership club. The members held the mortgage until 1984, when through the sale of memberships and the general operation of the club, it was paid off, creating a true equity membership which it continues to operate as today.

The golf course itself is mostly flat, with not many large undulations throughout the course, and measures over 7000 yards from the back tees. The backdrop on several holes looks out at the Las Vegas skyline. Las Vegas Country Club is impeccably manicured and gives the sense of a park-like setting with lush grass, heavy sand bunkers, beautiful water features, and thousands of tall, mature trees. It makes for a gorgeous and relaxed setting just minutes away from the world famous Las Vegas Strip.

Amenities include a 44,000 square foot modern clubhouse with an indoor exercise room, pro shop, snack bar, men's grill, women's card room, sauna, jacuzzi, shoe shop and barber shop offer our members the finest facilities around.

The practice facilities include two pitching and chipping greens and a 9,500 square foot putting green to go along with a covered canopy and misting system on the driving range for use during the summer months. Indoor and outdoor tennis courts, racquetball, swimming and a complete exercise facility are available to the members on a daily basis.

The country club can also be host to your golf tournament, wedding, luncheon, corporate event, social and any other event requiring an elegant location. Las Vegas Country Club has several venues for your event, including the Rotunda which can accommodate up to 120 guests, and the Banquet Room which can accommodate up to 48 guests.

Las Vegas Country Club has long been a great location for “power lunches” with such a terrific location and relaxed, elegant setting. If the opportunity presents itself, whether through golf or a special occasion, make sure you take the chance to visit this historic country club.
